TNOA sets up ad-hoc committee

CHENNAI: A three-member ad-hoc committee has been formed by the Tamil Nadu Olympic Association to select hockey players to represent the State in the forthcoming National Games and national competitions. The committee will also look into sponsorship matters.

A TNOA press release said that the committee would comprise Olympian V. Baskaran as Chairman, Aziz Ahmed (sports officer, IOB) as convenor and Ms. Renuka Lakshmi (Secretary, Tamil Nadu State Women’s Hockey Association and Additional Secretary, Women’s Hockey Federation of India) as a member.

“The Ad-hoc Committee shall look into the affairs of the Tamil Nadu Hockey Association and take steps to protect the interest of the hockey players and the game till a final decision is given by the Court regarding the disputes/issues pending in the TNHA,” the release added. — Special Correspondent
