Fire in bank branch

CHENNAI: A fire broke out in a bank branch on the Vijaya Hospital premises at Vadapalani on Monday, gutting furniture, an air-conditioner and a computer.

Sources in the Fire and Rescue Services said the fire broke out around 6.30 a.m. in the bank located on the ground floor of the hospital building.

Two fire tenders from Egmore and Koyambedu doused the flames. An electrical short circuit is suspected to be the cause.
