CHENNAI: A 50-year-old man, who was injured in a scuffle with an autorickshaw driver to whom his daughter had lent money, died in a hospital on Sunday. The police registered a case of murder and arrested the driver. The Ennore police said that the deceased Desingh was a resident of Nadukkuppam in Triplicane. A few months ago, Desingh’s daughter Dhanalakshmi (28) had given Rs. 25,000 to Dinakaran (34), the autorickshaw driver, of J.J Nagar, Ennore. Requests rejectedThough Dhanalakshmi made several requests Dinakaran did not return the money. On behalf of his daughter Desingh confronted Dinakaran at the latter’s house on Sunday afternoon. The conversation escalated into an exchange of blows in which Desingh suffered injuries on his head after being pushed to the ground by Dinakaran. He was admitted to a hospital where he succumbed to the injuries on Sunday night, police said.
