V.S. Sampath, new Power Secretary

NEW DELHI: V. S. Sampath, a 1973 batch IAS officer, will be the new Power Secretary. He will succeed Anil Razdan, who achieves superannuation on December 31.

Mr. Sampath who will take charge on January 1, belongs to the Andhra Pradesh cadre and he had been holding charge as Secretary, Chemicals and Petrochemicals since January 2008. He has held several senior positions in the Union Government. He has worked in Departments such as Agriculture, Cooperation, Energy and Finance.
