Residents besiege Corporation office in Tirupur

Staff Reporter

Tirupur: Residents of Ward 21 besieged the office of Corporation Commissioner here on Tuesday in protest against the lack of basic amenities in the locality. They pointed out that their repeated representations to the officials concerned were put on the back burner. They said that sewage water had been indiscriminately discharged from 15 Velampalayam municipal limits into their ward daily.

All encroachments on the storm water drains should be removed without any delay.

They also demanded introduction of more bus services and removal of the TASMAC-run liquor shop situated at Thirumoorthy Nagar.
