Profitable preparation: Workers preparing jaggery for Pongal festival in Ganapathi Agraharam near Thiruvaiyaru in Thanjavur district on Monday. The production cost of one sippam(30kg) is Rs. 250 and is sold for Rs. 610. It is said to be a profitable business for the season.
