Entrepreneurship programme conducted

PUDUKOTTAI: With the objective of motivating the youths to take to entrepreneurship as their career, a three-day ‘entrepreneurship awareness programme’ was conducted under the joint auspices of the Centre for Entrepreneurship (Tamil Nadu) and the Kings College of Engineering at the college campus in Punalkuppam near Pudukottai recently.

Branch Manager of Tamil Nadu Investment Corporation, Pudukottai, R. Viveganandan spoke on useful tips about entrepreneurship and the role of the Corporation in promoting industrial growth in the State.

Senior Manager of Indian Bank, Pudukottai, M. Muthuraman, explained the role of nationalised banks in encouraging the up-and-coming entrepreneurs.

Pudukottai District Small Industries Association president S. Prithiviraj outlined the scope of several viable industries and appealed to the students to be technically qualified to man the same.

He emphasised the importance of industries including agro-based units, fabrication, food-processing, building materials, electronic products and computer services.

College Principal V. Arumugam said that an exposure visit to industries and question-hour session were some of the highlights of the programme which benefited the students in a big way.
