“Remove ban on toddy tapping”

KARUR: The State government should remove the ban on toddy tapping, toddy being a nutritious drink, according to Tamil Nadu Toddy Movement Coordinator C. Nallasamy. Addressing the media here on Wednesday, Mr. Nallasamy claimed that toddy was a lesser evil compared to the Indian Made Foreign Liquor. Also, most of the parties cutting across the political divide were in support of allowing toddy tapping in the State, he said. The Movement would go ahead with its plan to tap toddy on January 21.
