Velachery residents unhappy

CHENNAI: Hundreds of residents in Velachery, who were severely affected in the floods during the heavy rain in November, are unhappy over not receiving flood relief of Rs. 2,000. The reason was that the people in Velachery do not come under the ‘low income group,’ Revenuee officials said.L. Ramasamy, president, Ram Nagar Residents’ Welfare Association, said that residents of several areas were denied assistance.
