CHENNAI: Sugarcane farmers will observe a fast on January 7 and 8, urging the State government to fix Rs. 2000 per tonne. Farmers from southern districts will participate in the protest in Madurai on January 7, while farmers from northern districts will join the agitation to be held in Chennai the next day. Explaining the resolutions adopted at a meeting of various sugarcane farmers association held in Thiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu Vivasayigal Sangam general secretary K.
