Tension at A.P. MLA’s native village

NALGONDA: Tension prevailed at Brahmanavellamla village in Narkatpalli mandal in Nalgonda district on Thursday following a scuffle between an irate group of villagers and the Congress cadres over the issue of payment of adequate compensation to the land oustees of the proposed Udayasamudram lift irrigation scheme.

Sources said the trouble broke out when a group of enraged farmers entered into an altercation with the Congress MLA from Nalgonda, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, demanding payment of Rs. 5 lakh an acre as compensation for the land oustees when he arrived at his native village to formally launch the works of a reservoir under the scheme.
