Delhi pips UP

BHILAI: Ankit Sharma and Kusharga Rastogi struck a goal each as Delhi pipped Uttar Pradesh 2-1 in a Group ‘B’ quarterfinal league match of the 45th junior National football championship here on Thursday.

Ankit shot home in the eighth minute to give Delhi an early lead. Hashmi netted the equaliser for Uttar Pradesh in the 38th minute.

After the change of ends, Rastogi scored the winner in the 48th minute to earn three points for Delhi. In its next outing, Delhi meets Jharkhand on Saturday.

In another match, Jharkhand beat Chandigarh 2-0. Luis (33rd) and Abhishek Das (45th) were the scorers. — Sports Reporter
