Under the watchful eyes

While the city geared up to usher in the New Year amid celebrations and fervour, the city police were on the roads checking each and every vehicle on Wednesday night.

All the roads were jam-packed with people driving to their destinations and complying with the security checks conducted by the police to ensure a smooth organising of the festivities. The intense checks in areas like Koti, Banjara Hills, Lakadi-ka-pu l and Secunderabad, however, slowed down traffic.Traffic police also booked cases against revellers for driving in an intoxicated condition.
