International recognition for BHEL official

R. J. Pardikar receives award

TIRUCHI: R. J. Pardikar, Additional General Manager, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Tiruchi, has won two international recognitions for his contributions in the field of non-destructive testing (NDT) and quality.

Mr. Pardikar received the ‘International Engineer of the Year 2008’, award from the International Biographical Centre (IBC) of Cambridge (Britain) for his outstanding contribution to “Quality Assurance and Non-Destructive Evaluation”.

Place in the archives

By virtue of receiving the award for his developmental works covering innovative ideas for evaluation of structural integrity of engineering components, the official’s name will find a place in the archives of IBC, Cambridge. The IBC citation recognised Mr. Pardikar’s contributions in the forms of technical publications in the national and international journals and conferences.

Efforts

The international recognition award presented to Mr. Pardikar by the Indian Society for Non-destructive Testing (ISNT) was for his efforts to propagate NDT science and technology over the last three decades.

His contributions in the area of non-destructive evaluation covers a whole spectrum ranges from conventional techniques to advanced ones for quality assurance, quality control during manufacturing, in service inspection and ageing management.

Mr. Pardikar was instrumental in enhancing ISNT to the international status. The several awards he has won so far include National NDT Award 1994, and recognition by Maruqis who’s who in America 2006. He has published and presented more than 100 technical papers in national and international journals and conferences.
