Man murdered

TIRUCHI: A 44-year-old man was murdered allegedly by his brother-in-law at M. Puthur near Kattuputhur in the district on Wednesday night. Police identified the deceased as M. Selvam, of M. Puthur, who has worked as a ‘Makkal Nala Paniyalar.’

Police sources said there were domestic problems between Selvam and his second wife Uma. On Wednesday night too, a wordy quarrel is said to have broken between Selvam and Uma. In the melee, Uma’s younger brother M. Kannan allegedly attacked Selvam with a wooden log causing injuries to him. Selvam died on the way to the hospital. The Kattuputhur police have registered a case.
