Ram triumphs

CHENNAI: Ram S. Krishnan of BSNL won the first prize in the Open category with 8.5 points as his final score in the Pearl City State open chess tournament which concluded in Tuticorin recently.

S. Arun of Tiruvellore was the winner in the under-17 section, M. Bilal of Madurai in the under-15 category, K. Varshcine (Madurai) in under-13 and V.R. Aravindh Chidambaram (Madurai) in under-11 categories.

The Assistant General Manager, Tamil Nadu Mercantile Bank, Tuticorin, Arumuga Pandian was the chief guest.
