Iron ore transport resumes

Karwar: Transport of iron ore to the Karwar port, which was banned in the wake of the byelection, resumed on Friday.

The Belekeri port in the district has been closed following objections by the Coastal Regulatory Zone and the Department of Environment. People of Karwar have expressed the hope that the police and the district administration would restrict the entry of lorries to ease congestion in the city.
