Man found dead

Coimbatore: A 35-year-old foundry worker Vijayaram was found dead in a charred condition this morning.

It is learnt that the victim was staying alone after sending his wife to Theni for delivery of their second child.

Around 3 a.m., the neighbours noticed smoke and flames emanating from the house and informed the Fire and Rescue Services.

The personnel who fought the flames broke open the doors and found Vijayaram’s body. The cooking gas cylinder had been kept near the bed in the hall.

Police suspect that the fire and death may have been caused by gas leak. Investigations are on to find if it could be a case of suicide.
