Surprise checks

TIRUCHI: A Flying Squad of the Cooperative Department conducted surprise checks in 39 ration shops across the district recently. The checks were conducted on the instruction of the Joint Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Tiruchi Region Rama. Jayampandian. The officials detected irregularities in the form of under weight, sale of commodities through fake bills and supply of commodities beyond the due limits - all amounting to Rs. 32,594. An official press release here said two salesmen were placed under suspension for indulging in irregularities and instructions had been given to take appropriate disciplinary action against those indulged in such irregularities.
