One killed, 10 injured as lorry overturns

TIRUPATTUR: One person was killed and 10 others were injured when a lorry in which they were travelling overturned at the 13th bend at Yelagiri Hills near Tirupattur on Friday evening.

The lorry driver was arrested.

Police said that 25 daily-wage labourers from Chinnakasinaickenpettai and Periakasinaickenpettai were involved in laying cement road on the Yelagiri Hills.

After completing their work, a section of labourers from Chinnakasinaickenpettai were coming home on a lorry driven by Sasikumar (33).

The lorry hit a safety wall on the corner of the road and overturned.
