Training for mothers working under NREG Scheme

THANJAVUR: TN Forces, Department of Social Work, Loyola College, Chennai organised a three-day training camp on child care and development for mothers working in National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme at Vanarankudi panchayat in Thiruvaiyaru block recently. Thirty three mothers working in the NREG scheme participated in the training.

Sasikala, President of Vanarankudi panchayat inaugurated the programme. Ashok Kumar from Primary Health Centre, Senthalai explained about the pre-natal and post-natal care of mother and child. Mangaiyarkarasi from Dr. Gorton Memorial Trust gave a lecture about mother and child health. Indrani from Integrated Child Development scheme explained about the importance of creche.

Sivakami of Phoenix Naturopathy hospital spoke about Naturopathy and Yoga. A. Elangovan, Field Publicity Officer spoke about the various government schemes.
