Apoorva shines

KARAIKUDI: Apoorva’s all-round performance (90 n.o. & three for 21) helped Mumbai defeat GNDU by five wickets and book a place in the final of the all-India inter-zone inter-university cricket tournament for women here on Saturday.

Semifinals: GNDU 157 in 39.4 overs (Manvi 32, Apoorva three for 21) lost to Mumbai 158 for five in 43.1 overs (Apoorva 90 not out).

Kurukshetra 204 for five in 50 overs (Shashi 64, Ritika 49, Kiran three for 23) bt Maharishi Dayanand 121 in 36.2 overs (Shashi four for 29).
