KARUR: A special eye care camp for the benefit of handloom weavers was conducted here on Saturday. The Department of Handlooms and Textiles, ICICI Lombard and Velan Eye Hospital, Karur, organized the camp in which weavers and their family members benefited. Collector J. Umamaheswari inaugurated the camp and said that it was being conducted under the Weavers’ Welfare Scheme. Camps would be held at Uppidamangalam, Kulithalai and Ellaimedu.
