Man gored to death

PUDUKOTTAI: One person was gored to death and 42 others were injured at a jallikattu at Andakolam near here on Saturday.

The police said the dead was R. Natarajan of the Keeranur block.

Twenty-two of the injured were admitted to the Thanjavur Medical College Hospital, while the rest were treated as outpatients. The event was organised as part of the a temple festival in the village.

The Udayalipatti police have registered a case and opened an investigation. – Staff Reporter
