VISAKHAPATNAM: A bonanza is in store for music lovers in the city when as many as 244 concerts will be performed by 535 artistes during the five-day festival at Kalabharati auditorium from Jan.14 to 18.

Informing this to media persons here on Sunday, president of Tyagaraja Aradhana Trust said that this time all the applicants could be accommodated. The artistes include 24 mridangists and 32 violinists.

Secretary I.V.L. Sastry said that the event would be inaugurated by musician and musicologist S.R. Janakiraman while ‘Sangeeta Kalanidhi’ Nedunuri Krishna Murthy would be guest of honour. A special concert ‘Navarasa Malika’ would be organised on the occasion in which noted artistes would perform.

Trustee G.R.K. Prasad (Rambabu) said about 100 to 150 artistes were likely to participate in this programme. Trustees S. Gopala Sastry, S.Vijayakuamar, organising committee members M.S. Srinivas, A. Chandramouli and others were present.
