Grant sanctioned

Coimbatore: The University Grants Commission, New Delhi, has granted a research project, “Phytochemical antimicrobial and antidiabetic activity of endemic medicinal plants Swertia corymbosa Griest and Swertia minor Wight ex Clarke,” to the Department of Botany of Kongunadu Arts and Science College. The grant is Rs.7.86 lakh. The project will be headed by K.Arumugasamy, Lecturer, Department of Botany and assisted by R.Kokilavani, Reader and Department of Boichemistry.
