Representatives of various consumer and service organisations under the banner Federation of Consumer and Service Organisations distributed pamphlets emphasising on adherence to road rules and road safety to the general public in the city on Sunday as part of the Road Safety Week observance. The event was presided over by the Federation’s convenor M. Sekaran. The Federation urged the government to close the bars in TASMAC owned liquor shops with a view to reduce drunken driving and ensure that autorickshaws did not carry students beyond the permitted limits. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
