BANGALORE: The Government will take steps to modernise the police, Home Minister V.S. Acharya said while inaugurating the eight-day “52nd All India Police Duty Meet-2008” at the KSRP Grounds in Koramangala here on Saturday. To this end, police personnel will be offered refresher courses and motivation programmes and the police department will have access to modern technology and weapons. Director-General and Inspector-General of Police R. Sri Kumar said citizens should assist the police to help curb anti-social activities and asked policemen to tackle crises confidently. The Karnataka State Police is organising the meet with the association of All India Police Sports Control Board, Ministry of Home Affairs and Government of India.
