KRISHNAGIRI: Syed Basha Mountain, one of the ancient symbols of Krishnagiri, will be the official logo of the municipality. A resolution in this regard was passed at the council meeting held on Monday. The resolution will be sent to the government for its approval. In the meeting held for 15 to 20 minutes, as many as 21 resolutions were passed, including handing over the maintenance of the water supply system at the Powerhouse Colony. To speed up the functions of various departments in the municipality, the council gave its nod to implement Virtual Private Network from the government-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited at a cost of Rs. 75,000. Due to non-availability of sufficient space to construct a public toilet at ward no. 5, the council decided to construct a toilet at a cost of Rs. 5 lakhs at ward no. 3. Saving energyTo save energy, the council decided to replace the existing sodium vapour lamps in the streetlights with new power saver mercury vapour lamps at a cost of Rs. 1.80 lakh.
