Quota sought for Brahmins, Vysyas

KADAPA: Economically Backward Classes Reservation Porata Committee members staged dharna and rasta roko before Mahatma Gandhi statue at Railway Kodur on Monday demanding reservation for poor Brahmin, Kshatriya and Arya Vysya communities.

Committee convenor J. Sudarshana Sarma demanded quota for the poor in the forward communities on par with the downtrodden.

Several poor families in Brahmin, Kshatriya and Arya Vysya communities are eking out a hand-to-mouth existence and lack support from the Government, he lamented. The protesters submitted a memorandum to Railway Kodur Tahsildar Kondaiah.
