Dilapidated road

Both the feeder roads to the Nagercoil Railway Junction have been in a dilapidated condition for several years. Of the two roads, the one from Cape Road at Naidu Hospital Junction is the most affected.

Even after MP from Nagercoil organised a dharna and met the Minister of State for Railways, R.Velu, nothing turned up.

The lethargic attitude of the authorities is the reason for this state of affairs.

Increasing accidents

Accidents in Tirunelveli and Palayamkottai are common. Road Safety Week is observed in January 1 to 7. Yet road accidents are on the increase.

Poor road conditions and violation of traffic rules are the main reason.

Authorities should strictly enforce laws and collect spot fine without fail.

Extend working hours

The computerised railway ticket reservation counter in the Palayamkottai Zonal Office functions for one session in the forenoon only. It is requested that the working hours may be extended to the afternoon also. It is hoped that with the same spirit, authorities should open a railway station at Maharajanagar.

Implement scheme

The land acquired for Sports Authority of India centre and an administrative office at Thekkurichy of Kanyakumari districtis not yet put to use but kept as a barren land to be encroached upon. Early action will cut down cost overruns.
