Chidambaram visits Police Headquarters

NEW DELHI: The Union Home Minister, P. Chidambaram, visited the Delhi Police headquarters here on Monday to review the police’s preparedness to combat terrorism.

The Home Minister, who was visiting the headquarters for the first time since assuming charge of the Ministry, met Police Commissioner Y.S. Dadwal and other senior police officers during his hour-long stay.

He was briefed about the strength of the force, its deployment, future plans and the proposals pending before the Home Ministry. Senior police officers also made a presentation on the steps taken to improve policing in the Capital.

Mr. Chidambaram was given a guard of honour by police personnel.
