Land granted for fisheries institute

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Cabinet decided to grant 1.7 acres (one acre = 0.4 hectare) at Vizhinjam, near here, for the proposed marine fisheries institute on Tuesday.

Briefing presspersons on the Cabinet decisions, Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan said the land would be given on lease for 25 years.

The annual rent would be Rs.100.

The Chief Minister announced that 2.79 acres would be given to the Malappuram District Sports Council to build a football stadium and hostel.
