Police custody extended

SHIMOGA: Tairoz Ahmed, a suspected terrorist of Shikaripur, who was arrested in connection with terrorist activities, has been remanded to police custody till January 9.

He was brought to the court of the Judicial Magistrate First Class here on Tuesday by the Kote Police Station under heavy police security.

He was remanded to police custody following a plea by interrogating officers for further interrogation.

As part of security measures, metal detectors were installed at the entrance of the court.

Interrogating officers are likely to take Tairoj to various places, including his native Shikaripur and Udupi, during investigation.
