CRPF constable booked

VISAKHAPATNAM: A CRPF constable was booked for allegedly misbehaving with a fellow passenger in an inebriated condition on Tuesday.

According to the police, the constable M.M. Murugan, 35, was going in a bus from G.K. Veedhi to Narsipatnam when he picked an argument with another passenger and pushed him. The civilian lodged a complaint with the Narsipatnam Police. The accused constable was taken into custody and later released on self-bond.

Merchants robbed

Robbers waylaid two merchants at of S. Rayavaram in the district on Monday night and decamped with Rs.2 lakh cash.

The merchants Ramesh and Nanaji of S. Rayavaram procure shoes and clothes from Vijayawada and sell them locally. On Monday around 9.45 p.m. they were going to the Narsipatnam Road Railway Station in an autorickshaw when the robbers stopped the vehicle and beat them up with rods before stealing the cash from them.
