Student found murdered

HYDERABAD: A 7th standard student A. Kalyan, who was allegedly kidnapped from a playground at L.B. Nagar two days ago, was found murdered in the forest area of Eliminedu village in Ibrahimpatnam on the city outskirts on Tuesday.

The police believe that the 12-year-old boy’s murder is a fallout of the property dispute his parents had with their relatives.

Kalyan’s father Raju, a tribal farmer of Mysigandi in Mahabubnagar district, admitted his son in a Government Residential School at Malakpet. The boy used to come to his maternal uncle Balu’s house at Nandanavanam Colony during holidays. Kalyan used to earn Rs. 10 to Rs. 15 a day by supplying drinking water to teams playing cricket matches at the ground on holidays.

Along with a friend Ganesh, the boy was at the ground when an unidentified motorist aged about 30 years lured Kalyan for a ride by offering a cricket bat and ball. “Kalyan told me that the man was his relative and that he knew him,” Ganesh reportedly told investigators.

As the boy did not return home, his uncle approached the L.B. Nagar police.
