Vara Prasad advances

VISAKHAPATNAM: C.B.S. Vara Prasad prevailed in the tie-breaker of the final set to beat Syam in a first round match of the plus 55 years category of the fourth CMR-AISTA veteran’s tennis tournament here on Tuesday.

M.S. Venkatchalam and B.G. Reddy in this event and Y. Kanaka Raj in plus 45 years needed three sets to beat their rivals.

Noted coach S. Narendranath eased past M.S. Sridhar 6-1, 6-0 in the plus 45 years category.
