Four recovery agents arrested

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: Four persons have been arrested by the Special Cell of the Delhi police for allegedly issuing threats to the director of a university for recovering outstanding bank dues.

During investigation, the police found that the bank had authorised Innovatives Solutions Limited in Sabzi Mandi here to recover the dues. Acting on the information, Bintoo Pal, supervisor of the recovery agency, was arrested on January 2. Later his three accomplices — Sanjeev, Adarsh and Kamal — were arrested at his instance.

The complainant had a dispute with Standard Chartered Bank over payment of credit card dues which he had settled with the bank about four years back. But two months ago the complainant started receiving threat calls from recovery agents who were posing as policemen and advocates, the police said.
