BSNL pensioners’ demands

CUDDALORE: The Tamil Nadu BSNL Pensioners’ Welfare Association has urged the Department of Telecommunications to pass an order soon for merging 50 per cent of dearness allowance, along with commutation, with pension payment.

Such a measure would enable BSNL pensioners to get the benefit from January 1, 2007 according to K.Venkatramanan, district secretary of the Association.

The pensioners would stage a dharna in front of the General Manager, BSNL, Cuddalore division, on Friday, Mr.Venkatramanan added. — Special Correspondent
