‘Produce Padmavati in court’

BANGALORE: Karnataka High Court on Wednesday ordered issue of body warrant to Padmavati Guttedar, asking her to be produced before the court on January 16.

A Division Bench comprising Justice Sreedhar Rao and Justice Satyanarayana passed the order after Padmavati’s counsel said she wanted to withdraw the appeal she had filed in the High Court challenging a lower court order awarding her life imprisonment.

She was convicted by a Fast Track Court in 2006 for murdering her husband, Ashok Guttedar, in 2002.
