Shakeer, Faiz crack centuries

HYDERABAD: Centuries by M. Shakeer (125) and Faiz Ahmed (101) helped Ensconse record an innings and 28-run win over Budding Stars in the A-Division (three-day) knock-out cricket championship here on Wednesday.

Sporting XI 296 (Balakrishna 41, Praveen Kumar 130, Suresh six for 93) & 136 for nine (Sudhakiran four for 43) lost to SCRSA 469 (R.A. Vishwanath 180, Paul 41, Srikanth 110).

Deccan Chronicle 434 for eight (Tejo Ganesh 133, Parth Jhala 105, Sundeep Rajan 58, Shivaramakrishna 48 not out) bt Galaxy 166 (P.S.S. Bharath four for 41) & 117 (Rohan Baba 51, Paramveer Singh five for 47).

Accountant General (AP) and State Bank of India were locked in a goalless draw in the SAAP Budweiser Premier League football championship at Gymkhana Grounds here.

Aurora Degree and PG College won the Osmania University inter-college netball tournament defeating Matrusri College of Graduate Studies 15-11.

Vijay (4) for the winner was the main scorer while Venkat (11) top scored for the loser.

Bhavan’s College, Sanikpuri, defeated GCPE 7-4 for the third place.
