YSR’s effigy set afire

HYDERABAD: Activists of the Society Against Caste Discrimination on Wednesday set fire to an effigy purported to be that of Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy at RTC Crossroads to protest the government’s indifference towards the 17-day strike of the village servants. John Wesley, general secretary, who addressed the protestors, wanted Dr. Reddy to invite leaders of the village servants for talks with a view to ending the strike. –Special Correspondent
