City boy bags medal at global art expo

HYDERABAD: Ten-year-old J. Praveen Kumar from ‘Sanskriti’, Rural Art Centre for children at Hyderguda village brought laurels to the city by winning a medal at the world art exhibition.

Praveen Kumar won the ‘Rose of Lidice’ medal for his painting at the recently concluded 36th International Child Art Exhibition held at Lidice city in Czech Republic. He stood out from among 6,788 participants from 261 child art organisations representing 48 countries.

The parent organisation Young Envoys International too won a ‘Rose of Lidice’ for the displays, a press note from the organisation said.

Two more medals went to the States of Gujarat and West Bengal. Fifteen children from the country were given the ‘Honourable Mention’ diplomas for their paintings and graphics.
