Mumbai: The Mumbai police will probe Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operative Imran Shehzad for links with the Mumbai attacks of November 26. He is “en route” to Mumbai from Uttar Pradesh, Rakesh Maria, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) told reporters here on Wednesday. “We are bringing him on reasonable suspicion,” he said. Shehzad was arrested from Lucknow in February 2008 in connection with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp attack in Rampur. He will join other Lashkar operatives Fahim Ansari and Mohammad Sabahuddin, who are currently in the custody of Mumbai police for alleged involvement with the attacks. Ansari had done recces in Mumbai and supplied details of locations (presumably to Lashkar), said Mr. Maria. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
