Narang wins

THODUPUZHA: Gagan Narang (Indian Airlines) won the 10m air rifle event in the National shooting championships here on Wednesday. Gagan shot 597 points to take the gold.

Sanjiv Rajput (Army) finished second with 594 points and Imran Hassan Khan (Army) was third with 590 points.

In juniors, Navdeep Singh won the second gold medal of the meet as he came first with a score of 585 points.

Birmathi of Army won the women’s 50m spot rifle prone with a score of 585 points.

The results: 10m air rifle: Men’s: 1. Gagan Narang (IA) 697.8 (597), 2. Sanjeev Rajput (Army) 696.7 (594), 3. Imran Hassan Khan (Army) 692.9 (590).

Juniors: 1. Navdeep Singh (MP) (585), 2. M. Rakesh (Kar) (585), 3. Chain Singh (Army) (584).
