Package sought

The Bangalore Tourist Taxi Owners Association has urged the Government to announce a package for taxi drivers. Association president K.S. Thantry in a release said Bangalore was a tourist centre. Recession and the Mumbai terror attacks had contributed to the slow down in demand for taxis. Lack of finance and re-finance for used and new vehicles , high insurance premiums and archaic laws had made it difficult for operators.
