BPCL KR cricket from today

KOCHI: The 22nd BPCL Kochi Refinery all-India cricket tournament begins with the first phase matches at the Kochi Refinery Oval on Friday. Fourteen teams will figure in the first phase and its winner will progress to the main phase.

The main phase, which begins on January 17, includes defending champion Vijaya Bank (Bangalore), State Bank of Travancore (Thiruvananthapuram), Cordiant Sports Foundation, Muthoot ECC and host BPCL Kochi Refinery (all Kochi). The final will be played on January 24.

The Kochi Refinery Ground will be the main venue but a few matches will be held at Tripunithura’s Palace Oval. — Principal Correspondent
