TRS for CBI probe into Satyam scam

Staff Reporter

NIZAMABAD: Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader and MLA T. Harish Rao demanded the Centre to order for the CBI enquiry into the Satyam Computers scam as it has widespread economic ramifications.

At a press conference here on Thursday, he said with the fraudulent activities of the outgoing chairman of the company Ramalinga Raju the Information Technology industry in the State suffered a major setback and being viewed in a negative light across the world.

Since Mr. Ramalinga Raju has been backed by some persons in the government an ordinary enquiry would not bring all the facts into light, he said and urged the Central and State governments to take immediate measures to protect the interests of scores of investors and also 53,000 company employees.

Posing a challenge to the Finance Minister Mr. Rosaiah to give reply to his comments on Delhi Metro Rail architect Sreedharan when the latter maintained that handing over the Hyderabad Metro Rail to Maytas was not a correct decision and fraudulent, he wanted to know why Mr. Rosaiah did not file defamation suit against Mr. Sreedharan so far.
