Bangalore: Justice N. Kumar of the Karnataka High Court on Wednesday stayed an order of the Deputy Commissioner, Religious and Charitable Endowments, Udupi, nominating people to the management committee of the Ananthapadmanabha and Ardhanarishwara temple. The court passed the order on a petition by H. Prasanna Ballal and others who had questioned the inclusion of nine persons in the committee. The petitioners said the nine persons were nominated at the behest of a recommendation from Home Minister V.S. Acharya. They said such an act was illegal and illogical. The court stayed all further proceedings and asked the officials to take charge of the temple affairs. Sand miningJustice N.
