“Irregularities”: BJP general secretary Vijay Goal leading a dharna against the alleged flats scam in New Delhi on Thursday. NEW DELHI: Questioning the Delhi Development Authority’s claim that the draw of lots for allotment of flats was fair, BJP general secretary Vijay Goel on Thursday challenged the assertion asking how people who had not even applied were declared successful in the draw. Addressing a rally organised by the DDA Flats Applicants’ Association to protest against the ‘irregularities’ in the draw of flats, Mr. Goel demanded resignation of the Union Urban Development Minister, S. Jaipal Reddy, and the Minister of State, Ajay Maken. He also called for a speedy probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation into the scam. The BJP leader criticised Mr. Reddy for not taking action against DDA officials and demanded that the authority that is becoming “synonymous with scams” be dissolved. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
